This exhibition is focused on the Parisian interlude of American sculptor Alexander Calder (1898-1976) between 1926 and 1933.
At the Pompidou centre the visitor can discover his famed Calder Circus a chaotic maze of wires and cloth but alo his first portraits made from wires (Joséphine Baker Joan Miro Fernand Léger). Other motorized sculptures along with a sizeable archive collection will provide background and colour in this artistic biography…
