The Arts Décoratifs museum will be hosting this major expo from June to the end of 2009 an event dedicated entirely to celebrity designer Madeleine Vionnet.

What to expect: 122 dresses 750 designs on tracing paper or cloth (toiles à patrons) and a total of 75 photo albums selected by Vionnet herself as the most representative of her work between 1912 and 1939.

This large selection of works restored thanks to the Natixis patronage will finally be laid out before the public eye. Vionnet's entire career was marked by a search for freedom a need to break the mould. She worked with refined unique styles that bring to mind the kind of antique drapes that fascinate so many modern designers: Azzedine Alaïa Issey Miyaké Yohji Yamamoto or even John Galliano.
