Now in Paris ...

- Tribute to Jerome Robbins - ballet
From Wednesday, April 21 2010 to Saturday, May 8 2010
Choreographic elite.
Jerome Robbins, travelling companion of George Balanchine and choreographer of West Side Story, considered the Ballet at the National Opera House in Paris his second home after New York City Ballet. In return, the troupe honour his unique style and interpretation. Three works will illustrate the diversity of his repertoire, his passion for music and his skill at translating humain behaviour into dance.
To the jazzy sounds of Maurice Ravel's music, En Sol gives a wink to the musicals of Broadway. In The Night demonstrates the poetic power of choreography to Chopin's music, describing the feelings of three different couples. Also inspired by Chopin's music, Robbins' staging of The Concert portrays a series of comical situations. Benjamin Millepied was to dedicate Triade to the great maestro.
