Sacré Cœur: one of the most popular monuments in Paris! The basilica, with its unique architectural style and commanding position on the  Butte Montmartre, is the highest vantage point in Paris after the Eiffel Tower.

Construction began in 1876 and took over 40 years to complete. Architect Paul Abadie designed it in the Roman-Byzantine style, with ovoid cupolas and symbolic ornamentation.

Inside the basilica is one of the largest mosaics in the world, representing the Sacred Heart of Christ being glorified by the Catholic Church and by France: the mosaic covers an area of 475m².

In the bell tower hangs "La Savoyarde", the heaviest bell in France, weighing in at 19 tonnes.

Espace Dali: This private museum, dedicated exclusively to the works of Dali, offers an insight into the fantastic world of the Surrealist artist through more than 300 painting's bronze sculptures and original prints.

Musée de Montmartre: In the past, the museum, whose main building is a 17th century manor house, was home to such renowned artists as Renoir, Utrillo, Valadon, Dufy, Satie, Bloy, Bernard and Poulbot. Nowadays, the museum houses the collections of the Société d’Histoire et d’Archéologie "Le Vieux Montmartre", founded in 1886, as well as temporary exhibitions.  Other cultural highlights include Le Bateau Lavoir, birthplace of modern art, Place du Tertre with its artists at work, the Moulin de la Galette, the only working windmill to survive in Montmartre, etc. For more information about Montmartre: concierge@terrass-hotel.com
